SINGLE-POINT - MULTI-POINT
SEQUENTIAL LPG INJECTION?
- What's the difference?
Single Point systems are less expensive,
and suitable for older vehicles. The system mixes the
LPG gas in the air inlet side of the engine. There is
a slight risk of damage caused by backfire.
Multi Point systems offer better performance,
economy and reliability, and the latest systems offer
performance that is on par with the existing petrol injection
system. Multipoint LPG Injection greatly reduces the risk
of backfire. Suitable for all cars 1992 - 1999.
Multi-point Sequential systems have recently
been developed to cope with the advanced emissions and
OBD systems on Euro3 engines that were introduced from
2000. Using complex software techniques to control the
injection based on data from the vehicle's petrol ECU,
each system is tailored to a specific engine code and
provides superb performance, reliability and driveability.
Suitable for all cars 1992 - Present Day
To this end Central
Garage (Carcroft) are moving forward with the new technology,
offering multipoint injection systems that mirror Petrol
injection strategies as installed on modern motor vehicles.

Manufacturers, ranging from basic single point systems to
sequential injection technology. A wide choice of applications
is currently available for cars and vans up to trucks and
buses, as well as off-road and industrial use.

THE SAFE ALTERNATIVE
In terms of combustion LPG is similar to petrol. However,
because LPG is stored under pressure, the vehicle tank is
much stronger. Indeed an LPG tank can survive far greater
impacts than either petrol or diesel tanks.
SAFETY FEATURES ON THE VEHICLE
- Electronic solenoid valve's which will shut off the
supply of gas when the ignition is switched off or the
engine stalls.
- Solenoid valves shut off the gas supply if the fuel
pipe is damaged for any reason.
- In a fire the tank is designed to withstand enormous
pressure and very high temperatures
- With over 4 million vehicles world-wide running on LPG
it has an exemplary safety record.
BENEFITS
- FUEL BILLS REDUCED
- ENGINE LIFE INCREASED
- MAINTENANCE COST REDUCED
- COLD STARTING IMPROVED
- NO POSSIBILITY OF FUEL THEFT
REFUELLING DUAL FUEL
For the individual or companies without a central base there
is an ongoing programme encouraged by central government
to dramatically increase the number of forecourt filling
stations selling LPG.
BP, Shell, Jet and Esso have all promised installations
of up to 500 units each on their forecourts within the next
four years.
Sainsbury supermarkets are also putting LPG facilities
on their filling stations as they are refurbished. We can
supply you with a full list of filling stations updated
monthly.
The time required to refuel a vehicle is similar to refueling
with petrol or diesel.
For any company running vehicles from a central base,
an LPG tank on your premises is by far the most convenient
and economical way to refuel.
A full list of LPG Refueling
Stations is available on the LPGA
website
FINANCIAL CONSIDERATIONS
There is a significant financial advantage in switching
to LPG as a fuel. The rate at which excise duty is levied
is very much lower for LPG compared with petrol and diesel.
Furthermore, duty on LPG as a road fuel has been consistently
reduced over recent years, and the Government is committed
to increasing the duty gap between petrol, diesel and cleaner
gas fuels.
WHAT IS LPG?
Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) is an environmentally friendly
fuel. In this country it is comprised mainly of propane.
It is a by-product of the petroleum industry and is also
found in natural gas. When the gas is held under a moderate
pressure it becomes a liquid and in this form can easily
be stored
- Most petrol vehicles can be converted to LPG.
- LPG price is currently around half that of petrol.
- LPG price varies from 34p to 40p per litre.
- You can refuel in your area. Currently over 1300 sites
in the UK.
- One new LPG refueling site is opening every day. Many
in BP, Shell, Jet and Asda stations.
ENVIRONMENTAL BENEFITS
CONTRIBUTING TO A HEALTHIER WORLD
LPG as a road fuel provides a number of benefits compared
with conventional fuel vehicles. LPG produces fewer harmful
emissions that impact on the local air quality, and also
reduces output of carbon dioxide, the main global warming
gas. LPG vehicles are also quieter.
EASE OF USE
Drivers can switch from LPG to petrol at the touch
of a button. With a dual fuel vehicle the mileage is dramatically
extended, giving almost double the range of a conventional
vehicle.
